The Harvest Festivals are the largest indoor arts and crafts show on the West Coast, offering over 24,000 American handmade crafts. Talented craft people and artisans wanted for Event California's 6th annual Jingle Fest. 150 available tables with a maximum of 15 reserved for jewelers (subject to change). All previous shows were sold out months in advance. Register early to be assured of a place at this unique and fantastic venue for your craft. Free admission and free parking to attendees.

With more floats than ever the pardade gets bigger and better every year. Families lined up early to get good spots along the pardade route which followed 9th Ave from 15th St to 8th street in the heart of downtown.

At the Festival of Trees all trees are decorated to fit a unique theme. The annual eight-day event at Colony Civic Center also includes storytelling and festive activities including a visit with Santa. During the festival, the Union Colony Civic Center resembles a magical winter wonderland with decorated trees.

The Wood Memorial Library and Museum's Gingerbread House Festival is a winter wonderland showcasing over 100 gingerbread houses made by exhibitors of all ages ranging from beginners to professional bakers. Located on historic old main street the festival is also home to a terrific holiday store, live musical performances and other fun activities for kids and families.

Carol sing starts at 4:30 p.m. at Essex Town Hall, with a stroll down Main Street accompanied by a Fife & Drum Corps and antique cars. The stroll ends at the Connecticut River Museum where boats decorated with lights and holiday themes pass by, then Santa arrives to visit children.

Artist and train enthusiast Steve Cryan unveils a new model train layout every fall, signaling the holiday season at the Connecticut River Museum. Each year his intricate miniature world of trains enthralls the crowds of people who make a visit to the “train show” an annual family tradition.

The Wilmington & Western honors our military and their service to our country with discounted train fares for all active and veteran military personnel. Tribute will be paid to our veterans during a ceremony at 11:30 a.m. at Greenbank Station.

The Jolly Old Elf himself rides the train and greets everyone on board, and gives all children a chocolate treat. Be sure to bring your camera and have Santa pose for pictures with your child during this 1½-hour round-trip to Ashland.

Hattie McDaniel was the first African-American to win an Academy Award for her performance as Scarlet O’Hara’s indomitable “Mammy” in GONE WITH THE WIND.
