The Frog Fun Run is how your PTA will generate the funds to unlock great
opportunities for our children, our families and our school. As the major fall fundraiser this year, it will help us provide Penny Creek with many “extras” such as Art Docent,
Science Day, Field Day, Carnival, and so much more.
Penny Creek Elementary PTA’s fundraising goal is to raise sufficient funds through the Frog Fun Run to support the entire PTA 2014-2015 school year operating budget.
The Fun Run is designed to make fundraising as successful and painless as possible. Penny Creek students simply ask for and collect Fun Run sponsor donations from neighbors, friends and family members—no catalog sales or deliveries! And while traditional catalog fundraisers yield less than 55% profit and no tax deduction benefit, our Frog Fun Run generates an unrivaled 90% profit and donations are fully tax deductible.
Our goal this year is
$20,000!
To reach that goal we need a total donation average of $55 per student. That works out to be eleven $5 donations for each student…or perhaps one phone call to Grandma and Grandpa? On October 30, donations are due, and students will participate by running with their classmates around the school during lunch recess. Music, activity stations (hopping, skipping, dancing, etc.) and snacks will add to the excitement.

1. Find the Donor Form in your Fun Run packet coming soon, and set your goal. Please be sure to fill out ALL the information at the top!
2. Look for time-saving tips on the cover of your information packet - like sending emails to family and friends with links to our easy online donation website! www.pennycreekpta.weebly.com
3. Go to the PTA website and find more great ideas.
4. Don’t forget to ask donors if company matching donation programs are available!
Frog Fun Run Program Details:
SCHEDULE:
The Fun Run takes place on Thursday, October 30th during the student’s lunch recess time. For 20 minutes they will run, hop, limbo, slow motion, skip, tip-toe and more while having a great time with their classmates and staff. Laps will not be counted.
PRIZES:
Prizes will be awarded to individual students and staff members based on donation dollars received (matching funds will be included in this total). Please refer to the Prize Sheet for further details. Penny Creek PTA may substitute prizes if necessary. Prizes will be delivered approximately 2-4 weeks after the Fun Run. In the unexpected case of a tie for 1st or 2nd place, the winner for the higher prize will be determined by a random selection drawing. The other winner will be given the next prize down. In the case of a 3rd place tie, a similar 3rd place prize will be handed out. To ensure your student receives the correct prizes, make sure to include your teacher’s name on the donor form!!
DONATIONS:
Please fill out the sponsor form completely with the student’s name, grade and teacher. Students can submit more than one sponsor form! Additional forms may be obtained from the front office or online at www.Pennycreekpta.weebly.com. Please turn in all donations along with the sponsor form by Thursday, October 30th. Donors are to contribute flat donations only (pledges will not be counted “per lap”). All money needs to be collected and delivered to the teacher the morning of the Fun Run. Checks should be made payable to Penny Creek PTA. All donations are per student, and cannot be combined per family to receive a higher prize level. Penny Creek PTA is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible. All donors who request a tax deduction receipt, will receive it by kidmail 2 to 4 weeks after the Fun Run. You can provide this receipt to the appropriate donor.
CORPORATE MATCHING FUNDS:
Many corporations (Boeing, Microsoft, Starbucks, Bank of America, etc.) will match donations to a non-profit organization. Please ask ALL donors if their company participates in such a program. Verification of matching funds must accompany the donation for the matching amount to count towards the student’s prize level. Forms of verification include a copy of the corporate matching fund paperwork or a printout of the online matching fund, stating “Penny Creek PTA” as the recipient of the matching funds. To fill out a corporate matching fund form you will need to know:

Note to parents: including a picture of your child in this email can make it more personal…
Count money, verify information, determine prize level, etc.. It’s a good idea to have separate money tally sheets. It is a good idea for the PTA to provide lunch/snack for all-day volunteers.
Coordinate with principal to create an agenda for the assembly and to introduce the Fun Run. Design prize demonstrations and show prizes at assembly, remind students to complete front of envelope, introduce parent information sheet, talk about the website, show Kids sample letter to family, talk about Corporate Matching, Prize levels, etc.
Order, package, distribute prizes, etc. Check novelty websites (Rhode Island Novelty, Oriental Trading Company, Joissu, Heathsong, etc.) Estimate prize order amounts and other expenses. Order a few samples to show at the assembly. Review Labels of Education Points. Ask Fred Meyer, Best Buy, Target, etc. for Grand Prizes. Decide on Whole-school prizes. Contact school office and principal to get a class roster.
