i.1 This Document is an updated version of the guidance material that was prepared to comply with Recommendation 1.2/8 of the 1976 Limited North Atlantic Regional Air Navigation (LIM NAT RAN) Meeting that required ICAO to issue "Guidance and Information Material concerning Air Navigation in the North Atlantic Region. i This Edition incorporates full details on Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM), implemented in phases in the North Atlantic (NAT) Region since March 1997 and due to be completed circa January 2002. RVSM details which were contained in NAT DOC 002,
