| DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION HARDWARE DESCRIPTION - 6 WBPEEUI350001B0 ® SCSI ADAPTER The SCSI adapter board mounts at the front of the module. Connectors on both sides of the adapter boards permit the SCSI adapter to be mounted on top of the video adapter board, thus sharing the same ISA expansion slot. The SCSI controller integrated circuit integrates all SCSI interface and ISA interface functions so that no external logic is required. The controller only requires a reference frequency. The Ethernet server module makes data transfers to the SCSI adapter using bit PIO transfers. The adapter board contains all the required termination circuitry fora SCSI interface. Termination is selected via onboard jumpers. A high density 50-pin connector connects the adapter board to the INSCS01 SCSI Connector Module. INSCS01 Module The INSCS01 SCSI Connector Module is a paddle board that converts the high density pin connector on the SCSI adapter board to a standard pin SCSI connector. The standard SCSI connector is on the faceplate of the INSCS01 module and provides a place to make a cable connection to the SCSI connector on the IMMPI01 module faceplate. Mounting requires one slot in a standard INFI 90 OPEN module mounting unit. INDDM01 Module The INDDM01 Disk Drive Module contains a card mounted 120-megabyte hard disk drive and megabyte floppy disk drive. The floppy disk drive is accessible at the module face- plate. Two ribbon cables connect the drives to the disk drive controller on the Ethernet server module. Power is brought to the disk drives via the P edge connector at the module mounting unit backplane.
