6. Research Gap There have been various studies done in the context of investments and FDI promotion on a foreign level. It is observed that even though different causes like MAKE IN INDIA and other initiatives have been gauged for their impact on the Indian economy, none of the studies have measured the impact of FDI promotions done by various sectors, to attract investments and the impact that they have on those particular sectors . Various researches have been conducted in terms of gauging the effectiveness of various types of promotional instruments and tactics including ranking them in a particular order to gauge their effectiveness. The correlation between the FDI promotions with various vehicles and FDI inflow has been gauged only for the American economy and it is proved that for every $1 spent on FDI promotions, there is an inflow of $189 (Harding and Javorcik, 2011) (I. Such a study has not been done for the Indian Economy and this study aims to fill in this gap by correlating these FDI promotional spending and FDI inflow in various economic sectors.
