regionalism in Latin America made little economic impact and was never implemented on a larger scale
Regionalism in Latin America did not materialize because of conflict and military
dictatorship in the sand 1970s.


• The major ideological influence on regional
cooperation and integration is embodied in the founding principles of OAU and later AU.
• The
major purpose of regionalization
was
to resist
colonial and postcolonial influence, protectionism
and realizing import substitution.
• Among the various state led regional organizations in Africa were
– CFA (Community of French Africa
– EAC (East African Community) and
– SACU (Southern African Community Union) and
– SADCC (Southern Africa Development coordination conference)
• (which was established against the influence of Apartheid and external dependency)
