About MOTORWORLD Köln - Rheinland

MOTORWORLD Köln - Rheinland, situated on the site and in the buildings of the former Butzweilerhof airport in Cologne, will span a fascinating bridge between the past, the present, and the future of mobility. For Cologne is the birth city of a pioneering invention: In 1876, Nikolaus August Otto invented the four-stroke engine in the Deutz district of Cologne. This marked the begin of global motorisation. The location thus both bore witness to this historical event, as well as itself being steeped in history. Butzweilerhof was once, at the beginning of the 20th century, home to the majestic Zeppelin airships, in the 1920s "Luft Hansa" was based here, and in its heyday it was the aviation hub of the West.

Covering an area of more than 50,000 square metres, the site will soon offer more than enough space for historic and more modern motoring treasures. Owners of vintage and classic cars and modern classics, through to luxury cars and motorbikes, will have the possibility of storing their vehicles in fitting surroundings in glass boxes. Dealers in exclusive automobiles, specialised workshops, as well as shops for supplies and accessories, will also breathe life back into the historical building. An outstanding highlight of this world of mobility will be the private collection of Michael Schumacher, which will find a new home at Motorworld as a permanent exhibition showcasing numerous vehicles and memorabilia of the seven-time Formula One world champion. Motorworld Köln - Rheinland will be open all year round with free admission for every visitor.

The Keep Fighting Foundation recognises and fosters the will to continue fighting and never give up, an attitude that is directly associated with Michael Schumacher. The initiative aims, together with and for a community of people who share this attitude, to develop non-profit projects and in doing so, among other things, to support the fields of road safety and research into neurology or head protection.
