1701 1902 inwards Boer War cover franked Cape Hope 2½d tied by "Krom River FE 18 02" cds, from Lieut R Chalmers of the 2nd Tasmanian Imperial Bushmen to his brother's wife with b/s of Launceston, Hobart & Bagdad. (F) R Chalmers served twice in the Boer War, was awarded a DSO in WWI, was appointed Administrator of Nauru in 1938 & was interned by the Japanese during WWII & executed them in 1943.
