A key Western biography which any library encompassing the Indian Wars, in particular, should include. Top & bottom of spine have just enough wear to cause a couple of very short splits at the bottom & threatening to do so at the top. A trace of wear to the extremities. We want to note another very minor flaw: There are hairline cracks to the upper edges of the hinges (front cover: almost imperceptable; back cover slightly more visible). By "upper edges" we mean that the cracks are not in the deep part of the hinge, but about 1/2" up over the lip of the cover edge from the deepest part of the hinge, on the top edge of the cover after it becomes flat on the paste down. It's along an area where there is still a little paper flex from the hinge. By hairline, we mean very tiny, & because of the floral pattern of the endpapers they are hard to see.
