  Has a route that takes students from the library to St. John’s Town Center, a huge outdoor shopping center that has everything from a Publix and Target to a Michael Kors and Tiffanys.

This is the Clubhouse, it was designed to be a hub for all students—not just those who live in the residence halls— on this side of campus. The amenities include:

  Mailboxes— each student will receive a mailbox with the code to open it. Additionally, if the package is larger than the mailbox, it will be delivered to the 24/7 front desk of the clubhouse.

This is a great time to share how environmentally beautiful our campus is. The University of North Florida is nestled in more than 13-hundred acres— with more than 500 left as a nature preserve.

Let me talk to you about safety. Here at UNF, we take safety very seriously. As we take the tour, you may notice the blue poles with blue lights that are scattered every few feet through campus.

This space is called Peace Plaza now, but when the University opened in 1972, this actually where the first graduating class of 35 people received their diplomas.

  Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) — provides advising for First Year Students and provides free tutoring for all major subjects. Additionally, they offer free workshops that teach you tricks to make studying easier, tips on public speaking and ways to avoid test anxiety.

  Career Services — Helping UNF students turning their college education into a lifelong career. Help students identifying possible majors, career paths and strategies to get there. Also aids the students in resume building and gives mock interviews.
  
  • 
    Volunteer Services: a great way for students to find out about opportunities to build experience on a resume or want to make a difference the community.
    
• 
  Counseling Center — if students need someone to talk to or are having trouble adjusting to the transition to college, we have this option for our students. We have nutritionists on staff and psychiatrists there to help.

  Women’s/Interfaith Center—they often have coffee chats and a library so students can come and meet new people.

  Limited to 20 students, so students can really pursue what excites them academically with professors who will challenge them intellectually.

  Has about 750 students, including nearly 200 first-year students that entered in fall 2015.

This is our Social Sciences Building, which was the first Green Building at the University of North Florida. Every new building constructed since 2006, was built to standards set by the U.S. Green Building Council. The University of North Florida wins national awards all the time for being environmentally friendly. The Sierra Club (the oldest, largest environmental grassroots organization in the U.S.) named UNF a “Cool Green School.”

  Anthropology — there are different focuses in which students can see. We have Anthropology Labs in which students can study decomposition or bones, and actually go to digs, which is something most students have to wait until graduate school.
