3.1.3 Migration trends
Recent net migration trends have shown a small increase in net migration to Western Isles. However, the overall trends mask varying patterns among the different age groups in the Western Isles.

Looking at average annual migration trends for in/out and net migration shows a quite marked deviation from overall trends for those aged around 16-24 (see chart below).
