Prime Ministers, The

by Yehuda Avner

Read by Denise Asserson (1 Cd)

A blend of selective autobiography and selective history. Ambassador Avner personally knew four Prime Ministers (Levi Eshkol, Golda Meir, Yitzak Rabin and Menachem Begin) through having worked for them. While he writes warmly and gives excellent portraits of the first three of these, there is no doubt that the last was his particular hero. Not only does Begin tower over the other three on the cover of the book, but 350 pages are given to over 6 years of his premiership, while the other three, whose combined premiership ran for twice as many years have 250 pages altogether. This book is a superb read.

by Freya Klier

Read by Simon Cohen

From doctors and entrepreneurs to children and world-famous minds, their stories could scarcely be more varied and yet they have one common link - the esire to maintain as much distance from Germany as possible throughout their lives. Promised New Zealand is a significant piece of world history, interweaving historical background on the politics of the period with vital stories that need to be told before they are lost to subsequent generations. It is the first English-language translation of this important work and the first time it has been published outside of Germany.
