asked to participate in a television spot sponsored by Blue Ridge Public Television. I look
forward to highlighting our REACT program designed to assist families following residential
fire.

Invited to become a member of The SAMHA’s Cadre of Consultants Initiative sponsored by the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration. The primary purpose of this initiative is to provide assistance to the SAMHSA Disaster Technical Assistance Center. Asked to present at a workshop entitled: After Katrina and Rita Workshop. Human/Social Sciences Disaster Research Meeting. December 1, 2005 LSU Faculty Club, Baton Rouge, La.
Asked to send information and papers based on my experiences to First Lady Laura Bush to prepare her for a briefing to be held in New Orleans. I was then asked to join her in Baton Rouge in the event children may have become upset during an Event held on December 12. 2005

Asked by Assistant Secretary for Mental Health for the State of LA. to assist in developing and implementing a cultural competence plan to assist survivors of Hurricane Katrina
Asked by the National Child Traumatic Stress Network and Department of Education to participate in workshops designed to alert school teachers and administers of the impact of Katrina as well as resources available to them (attended two workshops one in Atlanta and one in Jackson, Miss.
Deployed by the Disaster Technical Assistance Center, SAMHSA to join a mental health team to assist the State of Louisiana cope with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina
Deployed by the Disaster Technical Assistance Center, SAMHSA to lead a mental health team to assist the State of Mississippi to cope with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina
Invited to present at a congressional briefing on Capital Hill to share my experiences on the Gulf Coast and to articulate the mental health needs following Katrina. The ultimate goal of this briefing is to advocate for federal dollars.
