MOSCOW. March 22 (Interfax) - A Tupolev Tu-204 airliner fell apart during an emergency landing near Moscow's Domodedovo airport, spokesperson for the regional department of the Emergency Situations' Ministry Svetlana Anatolyeva has told Interfax.

"The Tu-204 fell apart approaching the airport's runway. There was no fire aboard," she said.

She added that four crewmembers were taken to an intensive care unit following the crash. The 32-year-old captain, 52-year old flight engineer, 34-year-old pilot and 46-year-old flight attendant were badly injured in the crash, she said.

Different sources say there were eight or nine people aboard, all of them crewmembers.

A Tu-204 passenger jetliner crashed near Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport when performing an emergency landing. There were only eight crewmembers and no passengers on board the Hurghada-Moscow aircraft.

“The Yu-204 plane of Aviastar Tu Airlines performed an emergency landing in the forest one kilometer far from a runway of Domodedovo Airport,” Elena Galanova, the airport’s spokeswoman told Interfax.

The crash landing took place at 03:45 a.m. Moscow time, Pravda.Ru reports.

All of the eight crewmembers survived the landing, but were hospitalized with severe bodily injuries. Three of the crew are in critical condition.

When landing in the forest, the plane lost one wing; the fuselage cracked in two places. No fire erupted on board the liner.

This place performed emergency landing twice in one day, a source from Moscow’s law-enforcement agencies told Interfax.

The plane left Domodedovo for the Egyptian resort city of Hurghada at 4:00 a.m. (01:00 GMT) on Sunday, but had to return to Moscow two hours later after smoke was detected in the cabin. Later, it resumed its flight.

The same plane, with only eight crew members onboard, made a belly landing in woodland near Moscow's Domodedovo Airport at 3:45 Moscow time [0:45 GMT] on Monday, while returning from Egypt, RIA Novosti said.

"These events are in no way connected," the spokesman said.

Russia's top investigator said on Monday the emergency landing of a Tu-204 plane earlier in the day was caused by an infringement of safety rules.

Vladimir Markin said a criminal case had been launched.

The plane left Domodedovo for the Egyptian resort city of Hurghada at 4:00 a.m. (01:00 GMT) on Sunday, but had to return to Moscow two hours later after smoke was detected in the cabin. Later, it resumed its flight.

The same plane, with only eight crew members onboard, made a belly landing in woodland near Moscow's Domodedovo Airport at 3:45 Moscow time [0:45 GMT] on Monday, while returning from Egypt.

Two crew members received serious head injuries and multiple fractures, while two others were taken to hospital in a satisfactory condition. The four remaining crew members are being treated for minor injuries in Domodedovo's medical center.

A spokesman for Russia's air transportation agency said the events were not connected.

MOSCOW, March 22 (Itar-Tass) -- The Tu-204 aircraft that made an emergency landing near the Domodedovo airport outside Moscow early on Monday has been partially damaged, its wings torn off, police told Itar-Tass.

The aircraft made an emergency landing in the woodland belt area near a traffic police station. The aircraft did not make it for the runway one kilometre. No fire or explosion were reported, police said.

The aircraft with only crew members onboard was returning from Egypt’s Khurgada. Two of the eight crew members were hospitalised in a grave condition to the Domodedovo central district clinic. Medical assistance was rendered to five more crew members.

The scene of the accident has been cordoned off.

According to the regional emergencies administration, no damage was reported to ground structures, electricity lines were not broken.

According to the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency, an ad-hoc commission is working on the scene.
