Goal

All students will improve in mathematics computation and problem solving, with additional attention to geometry and measurement, and formulating appropriate responses to open response questions.

Goal 2: To narrow the achievement gap between proficient and non-proficient learners in mathematics. (Strategic Plan)

Benchmark

To increase the number of third, fourth, and fifth grade students scoring "proficient" or "advanced" on the Augmented Benchmark Exam by the percentages listed to 85.0% for each group by the end of the 2011-2012 school year:

All students by 9.0% to 85.0%

All African American students by 12.8% to 85.0%
All Hispanic students by 10.0% to 85.0%
All Caucasian students by 0.6% to 85.0%
All Economically Disadvantaged students by 11.8% to 85.0%
All Limited English Proficient students by 10.0% to 85.0%
All Students with Disabilities by 45.0% to 85.0%.

The AYP status for the Caucasian students was achieved through meeting status. The AYP status for Combined students, Hispanic students, and Limited English Proficient students, was achieved through meeting Growth Standards. The AYP status for African American students and Economically Disadvantaged students was not met.
