Grammatical translations
It is important to distinguish what we are calling grammatical translations from the mechanical procedures of the logical translations.
The relation between the standard form and the original proposition must be equivalence, i.e. if one proposition is true, the other must be true,
if one is false, the other must be false.

SEMANTICS
Page In grammatical translation we must find out the subject, predicate and copula.
For example Into the night rode Lochinvar,
The subject is Lochinvar. A standard form translation might be Lochinvar is a person who rode into the night”.
Another common situation occurs when a clause is part of the subject but is separated from it by other words. The sentence All played who practiced,
has a clause who practiced, separated from the word all which is modified.
Thus the standard form of the proposition would be all persons who practiced are persons who played.
The clause now becomes the part of the subject joined by copula to the predicate.
