The Information Assurance Life Cycle
The Information Assurance Life Cycle (IALC) is a framework giving a best solution to protect critical information and infrastructures. The fundamental principle of IALC methodology requires that security countermeasures must be implemented with the intent of providing long-term, continuous protection. The IALC is best represented by a series of five basic operational phases:
1. Assessment
2. Protection (Implementation)
3. Validation
4. Training
5. Monitoring and Management
This document focuses only on 3 phases from Phase 1 (Assessment) to Phase 3 (Validation) constituting with the following steps:
Risk Assessment, including information assets enumeration and a risk analysis.
