| Cwmbran School Visit to the WaterWays Project
26 pupils from a local primary school visited the site earlier this month and were guided by Heidi Carey, Senior Project Officer, and Tom Maloney from Fourteen Locks. Click here to link to an article in the local press.
Archaeological Dig at Ty Coch Shop Lock
On 13/14/15 June the dig took place – and fascinating it was. It was known that a maintenance shop was probably located here alongside the long demolished cottage, however this was not confirmed.
This photograph taken on 7th June shows the presumed extent of the foundations of the shop:
Excavations more than doubled these foundations and also uncovered a saw pit.
