Bavadiya rape case
This is about a girl from village called Bavadiya in Shinor block. Geeta (Name changed) is a student of 3rd standard. Geeta’s mother with extra marital relations no longer stays with the family. Her father stays in Ahmedabad involved in construction labor. Geeta is taken care of by her grand parents in village.
In the month of the year 2014, a migrant person was hired for agriculture labor in village farms. On the day Geeta was assaulted, her father came to know that one of the migrated laborer had attempted rape with his daughter. The police has not been able to trace him and put behind bars.
When BCC came to know about an incident, the child line team of BCC project reached to the spot and carried out initial required processes. Apart from this, BCC shared information with DCPU about the matter. DCPU has asked for more information on the case and about the family. BCC is in the process of ensuring compensation to the family under a government scheme that supports the victim’s family with 20,000 rupees.
BCC is monitoring the progress on the FIR and registered sexual abuse case. DCPU has been requested to see to it that the culprit is arrested with required investigation by police. BCC and DCPU in coordination through the local CPC members try to make sure that the guilty is prosecuted under the sections of the Juvenile Justice Act.
