Dosiahnuté výsledky:
Cínové nanoštruktúry pokryté grafénom boli pripravené na ITM (MFA) v Budapešti. Supravodivé vlastnosti boli študované nízkoteplotným STM systémom na ÚEF SAV v Košiciach. Dosiahnuté výsledky sú vo fáze vyhodnocovania.

Dosiahnuté výsledky:
Riešiteľský kolektív je zapojený do riešenia dvoch úloh:
WG1, ktorá je zameraná na prípravu a charakterizáciu magnetických nanočastíc a
WG3, ktorá je zameraná na hypertermické merania vzoriek.

WG1
Boli pripravené a charakterizované magnetické kvapaliny pozostávajúce z magnetických nanočastíc, ktorých povrch bol modifikovaný rôznymi biokompatibilnými zlúčeninami ako napr. albumínovým sérom, dextránom, polyetylén glykolom i inými. Cytotoxicita magnetických nanočastíc bola študovaná na nádorových líniách (myších melnómových bunkách B16) a na nenádorových bunkových líniách (škrečích fibroblastoidných pľúcnych bunkách V79). Cytotoxicita magnetických kvapalín bola hodnotená v MTT teste in vitro. Z výsledkov vyplýva, že citlivosť jednotlivých bunkových línií na testované látky sa líši, citlivejšie reagovali na ovplyvnenie bunky B16. Najmenší toxický efekt na obe bunkové línie ukázali magnetické kvapaliny obsahujúce magnetické nanočastice, ktoré mali povrch modifikovaný albumínom hovädzieho séra a polyetylén glykolom [1].

Agregačná stabilita a adsorpcia surfaktantom obalených magnetických nanočastíc stabilnej magnetickej kvapaliny na kryštalickom funkcionalizovanom silikóne boli študované metódou neutrónovej reflektometrie [2]. Takýto druh informácií je dôležitý pre pochopenie stabilizačných mechanizmov týchto systémov a ich správanie sa v rôznych podmienkach.

Skúmaniu tvorby vizuálne pozorovaných štruktúr v magnetických kvapalinách, na ktoré bolo aplikované vonkajšie elektrické pole je opísané v článku [3]. Vznik štruktúr je riadený účinkom elektrohydrodynamických a elektrických síl a významnú úlohu má aj voľný náboj a zmena permitivity. Bolo dokázané malouhlovým rozptylom neutrónov (SANS), že magnetické nanočastice agregujú v jednosmernom prúde elektrického poľa so značnou závislosťou na intenzite poľa. Anizotropné agregáty sa prednostne orientujú v smere aplikovaného elektrického poľa. Pomocou SANS experimentov so striedavým prúdom elektrických polí rôznych frekvencií, bola nájdená kritická frekvencia, pri ktorej dochádza k spusteniu procesu agregácie. Štúdium vplyvu vziku agregátov je dôležité pre aplikácie v hypertermii.

Ďalšou skúmanou vzorkou boli magnetozómy izolované z baktérií Magnetospirillum magnetotacticum kmeňa AMB-1 [4]. Bol skúmaný vplyv použitia ultrazvuku na dĺžku magnetozómov pomocou elektrónovej mikroskopie, atómovej silovej mikroskopie a dynamického rozptylu svetla. Magnetické vlastnosti magnetozómov boli analyzované v jednosmernom a striedavom magnetickom poli na základe vyhodnotenia kvázi-statickej hysteréznej slučky (energetické straty) a kalorimetrických hypertermických meraní (Specific Absorption Rate). Merania ukázali, že magnetické vlastnosti kratších magnetozómov sa značne líšia od pôvodných, čo súvisí aj s nižšími energetickými stratami a nižšou špecifickou mierou absorpcie. Skrátené magnetozómy môžu byť vhodnejším materiálom pre použitie v hypertermii, a to hlavne pri liečbe rakoviny, keďže magnetozómy s kratším reťazcom majú dobré rozdelenie a penetračné vlastnosti, čo poskytuje rovnomernejší ohrev v nádorovom tkanive.

Dosiahnuté výsledky:
V roku 2015 sa slovenskí účastníci, ktorí pochádzajú z ÚEF SAV, ElÚ SAV, FMFI UK a Materiálovo-technologickej fakulty STU, zapájali opäť do Pracovného balíka WP2 Charakterizácia, ako aj do participácie na dvoch hlavných podujatiach projektu. Prvým bol Workshop Advances in Studies of Superconducting Hybrids: Theory and Modeling vs Experimens (S-Hybrid), Arcachon, Francúzsko, 16.-19. máj 2015. Na tomto podujatí predniesol pozvanú prednášku “Bi2Pd, multiband superconductor” P. Samuely. Veľká časť pobytu bola hradená z prostriedkov COST MP1201. Na konferencii 9th International Conference in School Format on Vortex Matter in Nanostructured Superconductors (VORTEX IX), Rodos, Grécko, 12. – 17. septembra 2015 mal pozvanú prednášku P. Samuely (SUPPRESSION OF SUPERCONDUCTIVITY IN STRONGLY DISORDERED THIN MoC FILMS) aj prof. M. Grajcar, z FMFI UK Bratislava (Microwave measurements in disordered superconductors and Mattis-Bardeen model with a finite quasiparticle life time). Účasť oboch bola z väčšej časti hradená zo stany projektu COST MP1201. P. Samuely, ako člen Riadiaceho výboru projektu a zodpovedná osoba za podprogram krátkodobých vyslaní/ Short Term Scientific Missions medzi laboratóriami v projekte, recenzoval a administroval celkom 14 vyslaní v dobe trvania od 5 dní po dva mesiace. Jedno vyslanie z Universidad Autonoma de Madrid do ÚEF SAV absolvoval prof. J. G. Rodrigo od 9. do 20. 3. 2015 a bolo zamerané na štúdium silne neusporiadaných supravodičov metódou STM pri veľmi nízkych teplotách. V r. 2015 boli publikované nasledujúce vedecké články, ktoré vznikli s podporou projektu
