A verb is a word that indicates an action, event or a state.

The future tense is the tense of a verb used to refer to an action or event that has not yet happened but is expected to happen in the future. It uses the modal verbs ' shall and will '.

Types of Future Tense

1. The simple future tense: this is used for an action that will occur in the future. It uses the modal verbs " will / shall" plus the base form of the verb.

Examples

b. I shall read my book after breakfast.

c. John will clean the kitchen tonight.

d. We will succeed if we do our best.

I said the simple future tense is formed with the modal verbs shall and will plus the base form of the verb. Right?

The base form of the verb is the original form of the verb.

Examples include go, walk, eat, watch, sweep etc.
