Room 443 Huntington Hilton

by Al Straaik

A big "Fins Up" goes out to the winners of the "Faux" METRO PHC Frosted Parrot Head Party Room Decoration Competition: Room 443 - Sue and Ray Leudesdorff!

In just minutes they transformed their Huntington Hilton room into Margaritaville, Long Island. The entire room was filled with so many different decorations that you had to look and wander around very slowly or you might miss something. The ceiling had several parrots hanging from it and in the center of the parrot flock was the Hemisphere Dancer...I guess Sue and Ray did not learn that birds and planes do not work well together...just google: "Miracle on the Hudson". There were fishing nets, flags, banners, signs, tropical flowers, a huge bar stocked with everything that you could possibly want. The most outstanding item in the room was a surfboard that Sue hand painted to look like an "official" Landshark Lager surfboard. She was smart enough to leave off the registered trademark symbol, one never knows where or when one of Jimmy's lawyers will show up and serve you with a lawsuit for infringement rights.

Of all the decorated FPHP rooms not one room even came close to this one. Congratulations to Sue and Ray...I just hope they remembered to collect their "Faux Prize".

We are all looking forward to viewing their room next year!

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Smith

The 2009 Frosted Parrot Head Party.

The Year of Still Tiltin’ the Hilton was a great success & we all loved the Hospitality Room. It was a great touch.

Big Brother/Big Sister Update

January’s Long Island happy Hour was attended by 38 club members donating a total of 70 bags of clothes. Way to go Metros!
