4203 GERM/TURK WW1 FIRST AID TIN. Highly unusual, but appealing cylinder tin with hinged lid. Black in colour with red Maltese Cross with a white "Crescent" to centre. Well constructed, sturdy. 13cm long x 5.5cm diameter. Grade II- $70

4204 GERM WW2 KRIEGSMARINE EM'S BELT & BUCKLE, MADE INTO A WAR SOUVENIR. Gilt painted buckle, shows minor wear, brown leather belt. Belt & adjusting tab both shortened. Adjusting tab with one set of holes only. Belt has the following items attached to it. Two sew-in type shoulder- boards for an Oberleutnant, both with gilt buttons. A length of Eastern Front ribbon attached to the ends of each one. A gilt shoulderboard device for Petty Officer, Driver. attached on top of each Eastern Front ribbon. (gilt finish worn). One shoulderboard attached to each end of the belt. Length of Iron Cross 2nd Class ribbon attached to centre of the belt with gilt painted peaked cap wreath & W/M National Cockade. Also attached to the belt are 2 X gilt & W/M Cap Edelweiss, 3 X gilt, for Signals, (finish worn) & Bandsman. 1 X W/M for Defence Ordnance Artificer. 4 X Large W/M Sleeve Ratings for Petty Officers. Three with Gilt finishes, being for Driver, Administrative & Marine Artillery. One W/M for Clerical (Schreiber). Three insignia missing, still an unusual and attractive piece of militaria. 4205 GERM WW2 RARE STREIFENDIENST (RAD PATROL & POLICING SERVICE) GORGET. Press formed aluminium Half Moon shaped Plate with raised edges. Front highly polished with separate centre- piece consisting of RAD Insignia superimposed & centered on a large Swastika. Above this Insignia is an aluminium Scroll with a pebbled finish. Within this scroll is the word "Streifendienst" in highlighted polished letters. Two chain hangers with neck chain made of polished aluminium links. This Gorget was worn with the regulation RAD uniform. Gorget shows nice age, is missing cloth backing material. Grade II- $1250

4206 GERM WW2 METAL PART OF A HEINKEL HE III AIRCRAFT shot down at Butley in England in early September 1940. 18.5cm wide with central flange and two 'U' shaped brackets. Finished in silver paint. Original old salvage label still attached. Nice original item. Grade II. $295

4208 GERM WW2 RARE DAF FLAG POLE (See Page 181, "Labor Organ- izations of the Reich" By. Angolia & Littlejohn.) C/W Three short sections of black painted wooden flag pole & metal pole joiner section. Quality made, 260mm high, polished alluminium pole top depicting a large Swastika withing a cogwheel. Stamped "RZM m3/27" to base. Metal pole joiner also stamped "RZM M1/83/41". An Original and attractive display piece. Grade II. $850

4212 AUST c/WW1 OR BEFORE. OFFICER'S SHORT SWAGGER STICK. Dark brown leather covered cane. 50cm in length. Worn through at one end. Leather nicely patterned with spiral design on ends and the center of the cane, having the appearance of being bound. Grade II- $195

4213 AUST WW1 SHORT SWAGGER CANE. Thin laquered Hardwood Shaft with W/M to bearing Crossed Rifles, GVR Cypher & "A/C/M/F". (Australian Commonwealth Military Forces). Brass tip to bottom end. O/A length 49cm. Possibly short for Cadets. Grade II. $250

4214 AUST WW1 GREAT WAR SOUVENIR. An unfinished No.36 Mills Bomb attatched to a black ceramic ashtray with the words "Memento Of The Great War Actual Hand Granade Casting As Used By The Allies" around bottom. The Grenade is cut through a third of the way down and hinged forming a cup and lid. Presumably to hold matches. This one is filled with wax from candle. A scarce and interesting souvenir. "Reg No. 651542". Dated "1915". Grade II. $250

4215 AUST WW1 UNIQUE AND VERY UNUSUAL ITEM OF INTEREST TO WW1 COLLECTORS. The Crown of Father Neptune as worn on the HMAT Ceramic, whilst crossing the Equator during the "Crossing of the Line" festivities. A plain tin plate Crown fashioned aboard ship and period engraved. "Crown worn by Father Neptune Crossing Equator on HMAT Ceramic 7/12/15". Shows age but no damage. A highly desirable item of significant interest. Grade II $1250

4250 GERM WW1 INTERESTING ASSORTMENT OF ITEMS ALL SOUVENIRED IN FRANCE BY. LANCE CORPORAL ANCEL JOHNSTON. 45th BATTL. A.I.F Items include a German Butcher Bayonet (non-serated Blade) with scabbard & leather frog. Wood grips & blade in excell- ent condition. working locking stud, dent free scabbard. 2 X pieces taken from a shot down German plane, one being a section of wing shaped wooden framework 15cm long and tapering from 2 1/2 cm to 8 cm wide. Cut out plywood centre section with old piece of paper stating "Pieces of a German Aeroplane brought down at Haut Allaines near Peronne. Jany 1st 1918". The other piece being a 4cm square black metal section with a cylinder shaped piece mounted to one side. 2 X Prussian Em's Belt Buckles. One Field-grey painted steel, the other of two piece construction, brass with a w/m centre. German Gas Mask, all straps present, including neck strap. Spare set of Gas Mask Lenses in original wrapper. Brass Driving Band off a French shell. German Officer's Sword Portapee with black leather strap inter- woven with three rows of silver wrapped thread, silver acorn. (Shows wear, silver now darkened due to age). Length of black leather strap with five Prussian Uniform Buttons & a Bavarian Belt Ramp Button attatched. Original piece of paper listing some of the Souvenirs, written by Ancel Johnston. Also Military Service Record and paperwork regarding Johnston, from the Queanbeyan and District Historical Museum Society. Nice Lot. Grade II- $1250

Mention of the plane is contained in The Official History of the 1914-1918 War, Page 429 Vol IV. Scarce attributable piece. Grade II- $500

4263 AUST WW1 JEWELLERY BOX. Fashioned from wood from a propellor of a crashed Bi-plane. Purchased from the Estate of a Lieutenant Wilfred Frederick de Courcey Patten. D.C.M. (D.C.M. in France as a Cpl with 13 Bn. INF AIF). RTA in unfit state, discharged, then rejoined A.F.C., Commissioned as Lieutenant. Was badly injured in a flying accident during a flypast for the Prince of Wales (Due to Mech. failure). Jewellery box is reputed to be from the plane in which he was injured. Comes with some basic research. Grade II- $275
