Made from a 18 Pound Art'y Shell, now measures 45mm high. Dated 3/15 and in primer has been seated a small arms projectile and tipped off with a small A.I.F. Button. Filled with unknown heavy substance and bottom felt lined. Grade II- $150 4302 AUST WW2 HAND BEATEN AND HAND ENGRAVED PIECE OF ALUMINIUM SHAPED INTO A SMALL BOWL/DISH. 4 X .50 Cal part projectiles form legs. Engraving shows various south east Asians (Probably Burma/Thai) Scenes. This includes native woman, native hut, elephant and tripical trees/plants. A very nice piece of what could be P.O.W. Art. UNUSUAL "SCRUNCHED" 18 PDR BRASS SHELL. 1917 Dated. M.D. Co. Manufacture. Primer removed. Height has been reduced to 155cm by a series of folds/heated pressure to give it a concertina effect. Would come up a treat when cleaned. A highly unusual type piece of Trench Art. Grade II- $75 4307 AUST WW1 TRENCH ART MATCHBOX SAFE. Made from Brass. 3 sided. Etched name/details to a Corporal in the 8th Battalion A.I.F. on one side and an etched Rising Sun Hat Badge to the other side. "Somme 1917" to spine. Cylindrical Canister made from two captured Italian tank shells. (75mm/27 on both bases plus 1/931 on both). Lid has nice fitting and is adorned with A.C.M.F. Rising Sun Collar Badge. Very nice. With two handles fashioned from Japanese 7.7mm Rounds from either side of main body at a slight angle. Very nice looking Bud-Vase. Total height 163mm with flared rim to main shell case. With the Town Coat of Arms of Armientiers (Brass Badge) affixed to it. Grade II- $45 4344 FRA WW1 TRENCH ART. SERVIETTE RING. Approx. 55mm diameter. Made from light medal (Aluminium?) in the shape of a Gentlemans Signet Ring. Shield has the name "Houplines" inscribed and 1914-1916 stamped. Grade II- $50 4345 FRA WW1 STRIKING PAIR OF WW1 GERMAN 77mm ARTY SHELL CASES MADE INTO FLOWER VASES. Engraved on the front is "Souvenir De Guerre 1914-18" Within a Laurel Wreath. Also has added decorative rings around the top of the shell with what would appear to be an enlistment date of 22-8-14. Shells dated March 1917 and October 1917 respectively. 'Glory to the Allies 1914' with Allied flags. Very soiled and belt ends in relic condition. Has been used as a hat belt. All badges removed save one German button.
