Protocol: A protocol is a set of rules that computers use to communicate with one another over a network, such as the Internet.
Subdomain: WWW is the second component of the URL http://www.google.com. The term www specifies that the website that the user wants to access (Google, in this case) is on the Internet.
Domain name: Domain name is the third component of a URL, and represents the name of one or more computers that act as servers on the Internet.
Domain extension: The fourth component of the URL is domain extension, which specifies the type of website. The domain extension of a URL uses standard codes to represent the type of website.

    1. WWW represents an information space where documents and other web resources resides. These documents are connected by hyperlinks and can be accessed by URIs using Internet. WWW makes up a large part of the Internet and consists of websites that have one or more Web pages. On the other hand, computers on the Internet are connected to each other with the help of various small networks. These different small networks are then connected to the Internet backbone using several gateways. All computers on the Internet communicate with one another using the Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) suite which is the basic communication protocol of the Internet.

    2. The presentation layer is responsible for translation, compression, and encryption.

    3. The layered concept of networking was developed to accommodate changes in technology. Each layer of a specific network model may be responsible for a different function of the network. Each layer will pass information up and down to the next subsequent layer as data is processed.

    5. One way to group the OSI model layers is to separate the bottom two layers from the top five layers. This is done because the bottom layers of the OSI model are related to the network architecture, or physical hardware. The bottom layers dictate how devices are connected and how data is transmitted. The top layers are called the application layers, the middle layers are called the transport layers, and the bottom layers are the architecture layers. Now, with this grouping, the top layers handle service protocols, such as HTTP, DNS, and other service related protocols. And the middle layers handle how messages get from one device to another through the network
