  • Topic: Mixed feelings
  • The lesson plan continues 80 minutes and projected for 17 students and B1 level students
  • Lesson aim: to teach students new topic and vocabulary
  • To organize vocabulary task based on topic

  • - read short texts and discuss , share ideas with each other
  • - listen to audio and write omitted words
  • - write a description about the person who has value to them by using the vocabulary which is learned in this topic

Activities:


Pre-stage activity: Watching the video
Objectives: Get the students acquainted with the topic.
Time: 10 min
Materials: Handout 2A
Procedure:
It makes student's discuss questions with classmates page 55.
It introduces the unit question: How has feelings affected our lives?
It gives students a moment to think about their answer.
It writes Advantages and disadvantages of mixed feelings at the top of two sheets of poster paper.
It elicits students` ideas and write them in the correct categories then posts the lists to refer to later in the unit.

While stage activity: Listening

  • Complete the sentences while listening to the conversation in audio
  • Objective: to listen the conversation and gather information about how mixed feelings has affected our lives
  • Material: Handout 3
  • Time: 10 minutes
  • Procedure:
  • Teacher distributes Handout 3 and asks students to listen and then summarize ideas from the audio working in pairs;
  • Teacher checks student's answers and provides feedback if necessary.
  • Complete the sentences with the adjectives in the box. Then listen to the conversations and check

Post stage: Speaking

  • Post stage: Speaking
  • Practice new type of task and the strategies for it
  • Objective: Write down the impact of the daily occasions on feelings
  • Material: Handout 4 page 60
  • Time:5 minutes
  • Procedure:
  • Teacher checks students opinions about impact of the daily occasions on feelings and suggests to practice this type of task;
  • Teacher brings Handout 4 in three copies and sticks them in different parts of classroom`s wall;
  • Students will write down the their feelings and compare with their partner
  • Teacher asks students to choose the appropriate answer for their written work from the paragraphs they read and choose the best one.
  • Teacher checks the ss answers and provides feedback if necessary.
  • Summary. Summarizing the topic
  • Ending (5 min):
  • Teacher checks ss understanding facilitating some answers for tips and using mixed feelings in the daily occasions ; provides feedback and provides instructions for self study.
