Seafloor installations
The Russian navy also employs moored, sea-floor acoustic systems in coastal and regional seas. These do not appear to have the range or capability of the U.S. Navy's SOSUS (Sound Surveillance System).
STATUS
First developed between 1949 and 1953 for ZULU- and NOVEMBER-class submarines. Initial operational capability (IOC) 1953. In service in North Korea.
