Drug testing coordinator qualifications, training, and certification Since DTCs who conduct civilian drug testing collections perform duties that are crucial to the integrity and success of the ASAP, they must be very carefully selected, trained, and certified to perform their duties. On installations, DTCs are normally the DTC and an alternate DTC; however, other personnel may also serve as DTCs as long as they meet the requirements specified in chapter 9. DOT Split Sample Urine Collectors will be certified in accordance with DOT rules. DOT Split Sample Urine Collector certification is valid for 3 years.
