5 – 30. Medical review and the reporting of Department of Transportation drug test results a. The medical review serves as a critical safeguard in the UA program to ensure positive drug tests resulting from legitimate medications and foods are not misinterpreted as illegal drug use. All laboratory results (positives and negatives) are forwarded to the MRO for review. b.Qualifications, duties, and responsibilities of the MRO are contained in 49 CFR, Part 40.
