Stopping Interface

Meaning:

The /uiinfops startup command-line parameter is either missing or has a multi-character point source designated for the interface information tag. This error occurs when running in a disconnected startup configuration and connecting to a host PI Server version earlier than 3.4.370. The interface will be shutdown.

Resolution:

Option 1: Define the /uiinfops startup command-line parameter with a single character point source. Restart the interface.
Option 2: Remove the /CacheMode startup command parameter to run in a non-disconnected startup configuration. Restart the interface.

Other Errors

22-Nov-06 16:35:27
WriteSeconds>PI-API> Error initializing digital set cache file: /opt/home/piadmin/pi/clients/interfaces/test/test_freebird_ab_1_dgcache.dat.
Point information will be retrieved from the PI Server.

Meaning:

The PI API Cache Manager was unable to create the digital cache file necessary for disconnected startup. The message also indicates the PI Server will be used to retrieve point information. Therefore, a connection to the PI Server must be available for the interface to start.

Resolution:

On UNIX and Linux, the file path and filename is case sensitive. The disconnected startup feature uses a lower case naming convention for the file path and filename. Therefore, the file path will need to be modified to all lowercase on the machine where the file will be created.
