DSL Bonding

DSL Bonding Introduction

  • What is DSL Bonding?

The basic theory behind bonding ADSL/VDSL lines is the idea that combining two separate ADSL/VDSL connections to connect to one computer should double your bandwidth and thus double your connection speeds. The solution currently being utilized is to connect two ADSL/VDSL lines to one router. For this to work, you need a specially designed router, such as the VMG4380-B10A/VMG4325-B10A.

ADSL/VDSL Bonding takes two copper based lines per subscriber and aggregates them to almost double the bandwidth speed available to the existing customers and also expands high speed broadband access to areas that are underserved today.

Using ADSL/VDSL Bonding technology, service providers can extend the life of their existing copper infrastructure, supporting the delivery of bandwidth intensive services such as Triple play service, data and IPTV. Pair bonding isn't just about speed—it's about reaching more customers at ever-greater distances.
