| Schedule triggers - A schedule trigger runs pipelines on a wall-clock schedule. schedule trigger supports periodic and advanced calendar options. A schedule trigger can only trigger present & future dated loads. Schedule triggers offer more flexibility by giving many options to schedule like Minute, Hour, Day(s), Week(s), or Month(s).
The schedule triggers are designed to have ‘many to many relationships which basically means a schedule trigger can run many pipelines and a single pipeline can be run by many scheduled triggers Tumbling window triggers - Tumbling window triggers run at a specific time or on a periodic interval from a mentioned start time. It is very useful compared to scheduled triggers when you are dealing with historical data to copy or move. Dependency can be added to the second trigger action if you want it to be initiated only on successful completion of the first trigger. The advantage is the ‘Max Concurrency’ feature which will let us define the parallel executions to process historical data using the tumbling window schedules which at a given time can run the tumbling windows side by side without waiting for the previous one to get completed A tumbling window trigger has a one-to-one relationship with a pipeline and can only reference a single pipeline. Event-based trigger - An event-based trigger runs pipelines in response to an event, such as the arrival of a file, or the deletion of a file, in Azure Blob Storage. Event-based triggers work with not only blob but with ADLS too. Event triggers work on many to many relationships, a single trigger can start multiple pipelines and multiple triggers can start a single pipeline. Diff between scheduling and tumbling windows? Very imp if I asked you to deactivate the triggers how will you do? tell me the steps? We have to go to manage button and check for triggers options after that I will check how many in active and how many inactive. I will prepare an excel with the status. Whatever is in active status will pause those and I will publish it. Once further notification comes need to check the prepared excel what all I have disabled only those needs to be active it.
