Mobile VCE provides strategic research, innovation and application of ICT technologies to its industrial members - global comms companies, mid-size and SME ICT players and companies in application industries such as energy, health and transport. Each programme or 'Core' is duration of around 3 years to coincide with PhD research time scales. Industrial reviewer/Mentor of the following projects:
Flexible Networks: The research programme investigates methodologies and technologies to support this increasing need for network flexibility will form the basis of a design methodology for the evolution of future networks that considers the needs of the different actors, including infrastructure and technology providers.
Green Radio: The research programme investigates alternatives to the existing network architecture offer the potential to reduce energy and power consumption. Techniques may be employed either to reduce the radiated power required to achieve the required QoS or to achieve the required radiated output power using less overall input power.
