AIR FORCE ROTC SCHOLARSHIPS

Air Force ROTC offers merit-based scholarships to both high school and college students. These scholarships range from one to four years and

may be for full or partial tuition, including most fees. Students must meet all eligibility requirements to be nominated for, activate and retain a scholarship. Scholarship recipients also receive a $600/year textbook allowance and a monthly tax-free stipend (Freshmen - $300; Sophomores - $350; Juniors - $450; Seniors -

$500).
HIGH SCHOOL:

Apply on-line at www.afrotc.com from spring of

your junior year through fall of your senior year.

Scholarships are offered for three or four years.
IN-COLLEGE:

College students are eligible to compete after

their first term in the program. Scholarships

offered vary from year-to-year and are merit-

based and degree-focused scholarships. Contact

our Recruiting Flight Commander for the current

guidance.

WHAT IS AIR FORCE ROTC?

Air Force ROTC is, along with the Academy and

Officer Training School, one of three paths to be-

coming an Air Force officer. ROTC is a four-year

leadership development program in which college

students pursue their commissions while com-

pleting their undergraduate degrees at a civilian

institution. Upon graduation they enter the Air

Force as Second Lieutenants. The program pre-

pares students to assume positions of increasing

responsibility and importance in today’s Air

Force. All text books and required uniforms are

provided.

ENROLLMENT ALLOCATIONS/ FIELD TRAINING

GMC Cadets compete for Enrollment Allocations during spring term of the sophomore year.

Those selected attend Field Training at Maxwell AFB, Alabama during the summer between the sophomore and junior years. Training includes marksmanship, survival training, expeditionary experience, physical conditioning, leadership challenges, and more.


GENERAL MILITARY COURSE (GMC)

GMC is the first half of the program during which

students experience the program without a

Service obligation.* Cadets enroll in a one credit

hour class to study the foundations of the Air

Force and the historic development of air, space &

cyber power. They also participate in two hours

senior year. The Air Force offers a wide range of
