Brian Cembor called the meeting to order at 7:05pm.
June meeting minutes were reviewed. Motion to accept made by Rick Mitchell; seconded by Tom Sprecher. With no opposition, motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report – a report was sent via email by Tom Sprecher. The region cash flow is lower than expected. Tom recommended modifying the budget entry in Quickbooks to rename Atlanta Motorsports Park budget line. A motion to move funds from Securities account to General Funds was made by Tom Sprecher, seconded by Tere Pulliam. After discussion, the motion was tabled, will revisit at the next board meeting.
Club Race Report – a report of the July event was sent via email by Butch Kummer. He also reported that Barber Motorsports Park would like to conduct a spectator clinic. Low entry level for ProIT was discussed; Butch proposed reducing the number of ProIT events and replacing with additional PDX sessions. While still early, the entry numbers for the concurrent National/SARRC at Barber Motorsports Park Labor Day Weekend event look good.
Fear This - Woodrow Gaines reported that 2012 has been a busy year. He reported that State Farm Insurance is interested in a program for the Augusta area, with Auto Trader expressing interest as well. Upcoming events include Carollton and Chattahoochee High School in Johns Creek.
Marketing – Brian Cembor reported that the Caffeine & Octane car show is now owned by Auto Trader and is open to Atlanta Region as a sponsor. Due to financial constraints this may have to wait until 2013. Randall Prince reported his family’s involvement with Advocare, a vendor of health supplements. Randall is interested in an involvement of Advocare in Solo and Club Racing events.
Membership – no report.
SteeringWheel/Website – Brian Cembor and Randall Prince reported that a demonstration prototype will be available after Labor Day.
Solo Report – Randall Prince reported that Delta Airlines is interested in an event at its headquarters at the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. The event would coincide with Delta’s Heritage Museum. Entries for the July Novice School and Test ‘n Tune were less than expected, but the Sunday event was good.
RE Report – Brian Cembor reported that he will soon have notes from the Strategic Meeting.
Directors’ Report – Bob Hudson reminded Brian Cembor of the need for a new Secretary.
New Business – Tere Pulliam made a motion that the temporary board term for Randall Prince be extended to the end of the year, Rick Mitchell seconded. With no opposition, the motion carried.
With no other business, a motion to adjourn was made by Tere Pulliam, seconded by Rick Mitchell. With no opposition, motion carried, meeting adjourned at 8:25pm.
