BIOGRAPHY – BOB TAPASZI Bob Tapaszi is the Manager of Flight Training Programs for Compass Airlines.
In this role, Bob creates and tests the scripts used in all training devices used by Compass Airlines for Initial and Recurrent Pilot Training. He joined the company in early 2006 as employee number 25. Like many others, he assisted in the creation and certification of Compass, its training and operations and was one of the pilots involved in the FAA Proving Flights for the newly acquired Embraer 175 aircraft.
Bob earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University and a Masters Degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California. He served in the United States Air Force from 1971 to 1997 flying and instructing in the KC135A/E/R, KC-10 and MC-130 aircraft. In addition to Compass Airlines, he has instructed and flown with Atlantic Coast Airlines, Independence Air and jetBlue. Bob is an FAA Designated Examiner, Line and Simulator Check Airman and Ground Instructor.
Married, with two children, Bob’s wife Anne is a retired school teacher. His daughter Elizabeth is employed by Macy’s and son Paul is employed by US Airways. He enjoys collecting Lionel Trains and smoking an occasional cigar.
