Scenario

You are working as a junior member of the team for a Graphics Design company called Future Designs. Some of your designs for Future Designs are original work and some are not.
Future Design would like to understand the potential legal implications of using and editing images. Essentially, this is about copyright issues and gaining permission to use copyright products from the Internet or from other sources.

Task 1

Task 1: Quiz (Evidence for P6)
In order to show that you are able to explain to your Managing Director the legal implications surrounding the use and editing of graphical images you have to take the Quiz on the VLE which is made up of an on-line multiple choice test and an off line short answer section. You will need to obtain a minimum of 70% on the on-line test and then complete the offline quiz table on ITS Learning that covers the topics below.
You will need to know about the following topics;

  • what is meant by copyright?

  • what is meant by copyright free?

  • what is meant by copy-left?

  • how to identify the ownership of an image

  • what are the penalties if you contravene the law?

  • what are the laws involved?

Checklist of evidence required

The quiz contains 30 questions and you will have to score at least 70% on the quiz to meet the P6 criteria. You will also need to complete and submit the offline question table to an appropriate standard
