Catering Sales Manager JOB SUMMARY: Work with members and their guests to plan the details of food service and set up for private parties and member social functions ensuring complete member satisfaction with regard to execution of the events, while leading the office with regard to account billing and administrative duties.
Duties
Provide exceptional customer service to all members and guests to create the AAC Experience and show that “Everything Matters!”
Plan the club’s social activities by following timelines and parameters outlined by Director of Catering and Club Manager, including securing vendors, signing contracts, collaborating with other departments and obtaining menus.
Plan additional private events as assigned by the Director of Catering.
Responsible for up-to-date information on the Main Event Board and communication of daily changes to food and beverage team.
Responsible for weekly distribution of function packet.
Ensure that all members and guests receive proper, attentive, courteous, and expedient service in a clean and pleasant atmosphere.
Answer inquiry calls and create event bookings.
Create detailed event orders for each event.
Ensure safe practices when selling and executing events with special regard for fire exits, room capacities, and electrical requirements of performers.
Correspond with private event contacts to sign contracts, collect deposits, and retrieve final guest counts.
Examine dining room(s) prior to each meal period to ensure the function is properly set up and supplied.
Ensure that all food and beverage is presented in accordance to specifications on the BEO and the client’s wishes.
Circulate through banquet functions to ensure member and guest satisfaction. Sincerely seek guest comments and quickly and willingly handle any complaints.
Write newsletter articles for all club events and submit according to the schedule set forth by the Communications Director.
Follows directives of supervisor regarding any other required tasks.
Qualifications
Have a thorough knowledge of food and beverage operations, catering and club policies.
Be tactful, diplomatic, patient, courteous, and present a professional image.
Understand proper service to use for all occasions and possess a complete and up-to-date knowledge of etiquette and service protocols.
Be attentive to others and be able to accept responsibility and effectively manage complaints and concerns.
