2017-2018 Students are allowed to bring a cellular phone to school for the purpose of contacting parents regarding transportation issues, emergencies, and after school activities. Cell phones must be turned off during the school day and kept out of sight during the school day and will be the sole responsibility of the parent and child. Any violation of these rules will result in loss of cell phone privileges. Consequences are as follows: 1st offense: Student will dial parent/guardian phone number on his/her cell phone. The teacher will speak to the student’s parent/guardian to inform parent/guardian that the student’s device is being confiscated. Device is confiscated, put in a Zip Lock bag, labeled with student’s name, labeled with teacher’s name, dated, and taken to the main office. Parent/Guardian must pick up phone. 2nd offense: Student will dial parent/guardian phone number on his/her cell phone. The teacher will speak to the student’s parent/guardian to inform parent/guardian that the student’s device is being confiscated. Device is confiscated, put in a Zip Lock bag, labeled with student’s name, labeled with teacher’s name, dated, and taken to the main office. Parent/Guardian must pick up phone. Student is assigned an After School Detention. Subsequent offenses may lead to further disciplinary action. All parents and students are to sign an agreement to adhere to our school cell phone and electronic use policies. CELLULAR PHONES - Students are prohibited from contacting parents using a cell phone during school hours without permission and supervision from an appropriate staff member. The school district assumes no responsibility for lost or stolen cell phones. If your child will be bringing a cell phone to school please fill out the form below and return to the school office.
