2.6.1 PROBLEM OF GPA

The basic problem of GPA lies with mistaking ordinal numbers as cardinal numbers and applying arithmetic operations to the grades. Because of this, the basic principles of measuring at the ordinal level are consequently violated. This problem is then aggravated by its expansion and the modifications that have been made in many nations and over a long period of practice. The end result is that GPA takes on a range of meanings that make it meaningless and hence difficult and confusing to use.



2.6.2 Analysis of Existing System

The existing system is a system that has been carried out in terms of manual operation. A system in which all the methods of calculating GPA is in manual approach, critical analysis of this system reveals that it is a system prone to errors.


2.6.3 PROBLEMS OF EXISTING SYSTEM

The problem of existing system of GPA computation is the manual system of information some of the problem inherent with the manual system include;



  1. Misplacement of paper file.

  2. Data insecurity

  3. Time consumption

  4. Inadequate materials
