Redesigning of RUNVOC, a program constructed to predict the amount of harmful vapors emitted during the process of mixing volatile and nonvolatile organic compounds to synthesize paints.
Extracted synthesis algorithms from DOS console program written in BASIC.
Recoded the algorithms into Java, tested the algorithms for precision, and designed a GUI using Java’s Swing library.
Managed three classes of up to 20 students each, ranging in age from 9 to 14 years.
Instructed the students on syntax specific to the languages, generic programming methods, such as recursion, looping, object oriented design, and code organization, commenting, and management.
