COMMON Certification Program

In today’s competitive business environment it is more necessary than ever to effectively deliver technology in a way that makes the most efficient use of the limited resources available in any enterprise, large or small. In order to recognize individuals that have achieved the knowledge, skill and experience to do just that, COMMON developed the COMMON Certification Program. Once you achieve the full COMMON Certified Business Computing Professional (CCBCP) credential, your present and future employers are assured that the technology needs and wants of their organization will always be addressed in a way that minimizes costs and maximizes benefits.

Developed by long-time COMMON members, members of the academic community and industry experts, this program measures, through exams and other requirements, the attributes you, as a technology professional, must possess in order to effectively deliver computing to the business. It all begins with the COMMON Business Computing Associate exam. Once you pass that exam, gain some more job experience, and hold a current technical certification from another party such as IBM, Microsoft or Cisco, you can take the CCBCP exam. A passing score and confirmation of the other requirements will result in full CCBCP certification.

The newest credential offered through the COMMON Certification Program, the exam for COMMON Certified Application Developer – ILE RPG on IBM i on Power debuted at the COMMON 2012 Annual Meeting and Exposition in Anaheim.  This was the first opportunity to take the exam and gain this credential before leaving Anaheim and have your RPG expertise validated - become one of the first COMMON Certified Application Developers!
