We aim to bring people of all ages and abilities together in what we do and host lots of diverse events and activities. All are welcome to join in with our events.

Now! – Entries open
Advent Windows
1-24 December Seasonal themed windows that are unveiled at dusk each evening in the run up to Christmas (with many people keeping their advent windows in place until the 1 January). This year the theme is pantomime.

Advent Windows Trail maps will be available from Calverley Post Office and Calverley News. Get out in the fresh air and have some seasonal fun.
As ever, all are welcome to join in.
28 November – Entries close for the Christmas Tree Festival
Calverley Methodist Church and Calverley Parish Church are to host a Christmas Tree Festival from the 13-15 December.
Local organisations, charities, individuals, families and businesses are welcome to join in and decorate a Christmas Tree.
If you are interested in joining in and decorating a tree, please obtain an application form from Calverley Methodist Church or Calverley Parish Church or download the application form from the Creative Calverley website.
10 November, Birdwatching Walk in Calverley Woods, meet 9.00am Calverley Parish Church Gate
Seasonal walk led by Linda Jenkinson our very friendly and knowledgeable wildlife watching friend. £15.00 per person. Places must be booked prior to the event by contacting Linda on 07778 768719 or email linda.startbirding@gmail.com
“Light Festival”
Throughout November and December we will be hosting events to celebrate the importance of light during the winter months.
30 November from 10am – 3pm, Calverley Methodist Church Hall
Lantern making workshop (various times throughout the day). Members of Creative Calverley will guide you through making lanterns (perfect for the lantern festival on the 21 December). £8.00 per person.
Beeswax candle making workshop (various times throughout the day) – Peter Hoskins (local beekeeper) will show you how to make some rolled beeswax candles (perfect for Christmas Gifts). £8.00 per workshop per person

Frost Fair – 1 December – Vintage stalls and locally made handmade items.
Advent Windows 1 December – 24 December
Lantern Parade – 21 December from 4pm. Bring your own lantern you have made at the lantern making workshop of a lantern that you already own. Please note battery operated/LED lights only in the lanterns are allowed due to health and safety. Communal walk/(possibly) carol singing around the village. Final arrangements will be posted as soon as possible.
Challenge Calverley – throughout 2013
Can you set yourself a goal of something to achieve in 2013 and raise funds for charity at the same time?
The challenge can be individual, sporting, group, communal, arty...anything you would like.
Let us know what you will do, it may well be that you can inspire others to join you as well.
Lots of new and exciting events, activities and initiatives have been happening in Calverley in 2013. Well done to all those who are “getting involved” with the local community.
