CSR Asia Scholarship Programme - Application Form

CSR Asia is committed to promoting corporate social responsibility (CSR) in Asia. Illustrative of this commitment, the CSR Asia Scholarship Programme has been established to offer fee reductions or waivers for the CSR Asia Summit and our training courses.

The CSR Asia Scholarship is supported by UBS who is dedicated to building CSR capacity in Asia


The CSR Asia Scholarship is awarded to candidates with a proven commitment to driving sustainable change, social or environmental. The CSR Asia Scholarship committee is looking for candidates who exhibit a strong interest in CSR and demonstrate outstanding leadership potential to further drive sustainable change. Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. University students or staff from non-profit organisations (NGOs)

  2. A demonstrated commitment in CSR and/or sustainability

  3. A strong leadership potential to further drive sustainable change

  4. Lack of resources to fund the full or part of the course fee

Preference will be given to applicants with the following criteria:

  1. Originated from countries in Asia, specifically Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand or Vietnam

  2. Demonstrated experience in community involvement or charity work if applicant is a student

  3. Evidence that the outcomes of the event or course can be directly applied to day job or university courses taken to pursue sustainable change

  4. Other criteria such as future goals, academic standing, professional experience, school/ community involvement, recommendation by referee will also be considered.

  2. Applications must submit at least one month before the training course or event.

  3. Only successful applications will be notified by email or phone call.

  4. Please complete one application for each scholarship.

  • Please describe the relevance of CSR and / or sustainability in your day to day activities

  • Please provide evidence for your commitment in CSR and / or sustainability (evidence of courses, activities, community involvement, charity, projects submitted for funding, other)

  • Please demonstrate your leadership potential (awards, external references, other)

  • Please describe how you will use the learnings, outcomes, experience of the course or the event

  • Please provide any supportive evidence to show that you or your organisation can’t afford the required course or event fee

Obligations of Scholarships Recipients

CSR Scholarship is made possible by contributions from generous donors who strongly believed in the importance of building CSR capacity among students or NGO staff in Asia. As a recipient, you are obliged to use the learnings and outcomes of this scholarship to further drive sustainable change in your life. You are encouraged to communicate your personal learnings and experience from the scholarship with the Donor.

CSR Scholarship recipients are obligated to:

  • Be present during the entire period of the conference/ training

  • Take an active, constructive and supportive role as the participant. As a recipient you represent both CSR Asia and the Donor

  • Attend meetings arranged by the Scholarship Donor as requested

  • Submit a one page conference/ training review within 3 weeks upon the conclusion of the course/ conference

  • Share your learning and experience from the event or training to a wider audience via social media, such as LinkedIn or Twitter

  • Inform the committee timely if you are unable to attend the conference or cannot attend any of the functions arranged.
