Dues- We are excited that our North Gwinnett Orchestra program has seen another year of growth. As our program grows, so does the need to maintain and expand the equipment our program uses. We work with a tight budget and strive to stretch every penny for the benefit of every student. Dues of $100 are collected annually to offset the funds provided by the county. Dues are payable on MyPaymentsPlus or by cash or check made out to NGHS. NGHS Orchestra Dues include, but are not limited to: sheet music, Large Group Performance Evaluation Fees, string replacement (sets for class instruments, and single strings for student owned violins/violas as needed), bow rehairs (class instruments only), shoulder rests, rosin and rockstops for class, class instrument maintenance and repair, clinician fees/monthly sectional help, new acoustic and electric instruments, stand lights and bulbs, electronic equipment for student composition, freshmen/transfer student orchestra casual uniform shirts, awards, senior events, concert intermission needs, and so much more.

Scripzone (Gift Card Fundraiser)- We only have 1 fundraiser and it goes from September 1^st – May 1^st. Scripzone is an online gift card ordering company. Every gift card you order gives a different percentage of the gift card to NGHS Orchestra without taking away the value of the gift card. They have hundreds of businesses to choose from. Your student(s) will receive a handout on the first day of school with more information, instructions on how to create an account, and what our Group ID is.

Uniform- The directors no longer order uniforms. Uniforms are dressy all black pants/floor length skirt and black button down collared shirt for boys and the same for girls or an all-black blouse with sleeves. Black dress shoes with black socks or girls may wear dressy black sandals. Girls do not have to wear tights, but if they do, they need to be black or nude. All legs and shoulders must be covered. Please no workout clothes, jeans, or t-shirts.

Youth Orchestras & All-State-

All State 1^st round etudes should be released by the end of the first week of school. Scales always stay the same. Register even if you are exempt. There is a fee for auditioning and a fee for acceptance.

ASYO (Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra)- Auditions were in the spring.

  Each quartet or ensemble is required to perform before one NGMS concert this year. Dates TBA.

  Each quartet or ensemble needs to agree on a performance path for the year. You may choose between an outreach performance (Giving Bach) project track or a competition track. You are only required to do 1 project or apply for 1 competition, but you may do as many as you want.
  
• 
  NGHS Orchestra will cover application fees for any group competitions for groups in which every member has paid their $100 orchestra dues. The Spooktacular, Nutcracker, & Valentine concerts will be fundraiser concerts, and we will also have our gift card fundraiser August-April. Depending on proceeds from those fundraisers, we will cover what we can for hotel & travel evenly among the participants, but be prepared to cover at least a couple hundred dollars for each workshop/competition.

  USC String Quartet Workshop & Competition dates are set and confirmed. It is the last Saturday of your Spring Break.

  St. Paul & Fischoff dates are set and confirmed.

  The Nutcracker Performance is also not confirmed, but will most likely be that day and is only 1 show at the Infinite Energy Center, Hudgens Theater, in Duluth.
