~ENERGY ~ Priority Area: 'Sustainable Energy Systems' (Energy) Call Title (full): 'Sustainable Energy Systems - Medium and Longer Term' Call Title (short): Energy-4 Call Identifier: FP6-2005-Energy-4 Call Budget: € 20 million Euros Call Deadline: 10-January 2006 Project Types: This call is for STREPs with a single possibility for an IP in 'Biomass.' Single Stage Evaluation: The deadline of 10-Jan. 2006 is for full proposals which will be evaluated for a final funding decision. General Description of this Call: The objective is to develop new and renewable energy sources, and new carriers such as hydrogen which are both affordable and clean and which can be well integrated into a future sustainable energy supply both for stationary and transport applications. The future large-scale development of these technologies will depend on significant improvements in their cost and other aspects of competitiveness against conventional energy sources. Proposals addressing medium-to-long term research should deliver results which could be widely exploited commercially or otherwise, with a time horizon generally beyond 2010 (further development and particularly demonstration type actions may be necessary before technologies are ready for full-scale commercial use).
