ALEPH500 GUI sends email via SMTP port 25. Many anti virus PC programs by default have this blocked. For example if you have MacAfee anti virus do:
start > programs > network associates > virus scan console (or whatever you do on your PC to get to "virus scan console"). Double click "access protection"
The following line by default is checked: Prevent mass mailing worms from sending mail ports 25
