ExpressJet Airlines launches Preferred School Program with
Nashville Flight Training

ATLANTA – July 18, 2016 – ExpressJet Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of SkyWest, Inc. (NASDAQ: SKYW), announced the Preferred School Program (PSP) today in conjunction with launch partner school, Nashville Flight Training (NFT) offering aviation students at the school career progression with ExpressJet. The official announcement and signing event is scheduled at 10 a.m., Friday, July 22 at Nashville Flight Training at 801 Hangar Ln, Hangar #7 in Nashville.
Through this preferred school agreement, a student who completes flight training at a partner school will receive a guaranteed, early interview at ExpressJet. The program is designed to provide future employment opportunities for graduates of the NFT program, and to build a hiring pool of pilots for ExpressJet.
Upon successful completion of the interview, the student will be offered a conditional offer of employment with ExpressJet. They would continue to flight instruct as a Certified Flight Instructor for NFT until they meet the required hours to be hired at ExpressJet.
ExpressJet’s Preferred School Program, more commonly known as PSP, provides a clear path for students from partner schools to go from the training environment, to the right seat at ExpressJet, which then opens doors to additional career progression should the student seek it. ExpressJet is the only regional airline that offers career pathways to United Airlines and JetBlue Airways.
“We are honored to be the launch school for the ExpressJet Airlines PSP program,” said Chris Erlanson, Nashville Flight Training president. “This program is a mutually beneficial opportunity, allowing our school to provide a career path for our flight students and help fill the pilot pipeline for ExpressJet. This approach provides a solution addressing the pilot shortage challenge the aviation industry is currently facing.”
