Follow-up letter to school official after presentation or meeting
Dear (name of school contact),
Thank you for taking time to visit with me on (enter day, date) to discuss AFS Intercultural Programs.
We are delighted (enter school name) has welcomed (list hosted participants) for this school year and so pleased s/he could share information about his/her country with classmates during International Education Week. The US Departments of State and Education established IEW so that students could learn more about what it means to be a global learner and a global citizen.
AFS provides numerous resources for your students, families and teachers. Students may access information about exciting opportunities to go abroad at http://www.afs.org/afs-and-exchange-programs/participate-in-afs-programs/ And, of course, AFS hopes to partner with you in the future by placing hosted students with families in your community. Students come to the USA for a semester or for a year; perhaps your school community could welcome one of AFS’s many scholarship recipients. Those students can provide unique perspectives to our American students. Families interested in learning more about hosting can find information at http://www.afs.org/afs-and-exchange-programs/become-an-afs-host-family/
Your teachers will find valuable resources such as the Global Classroom Newsletter and classroom activities focused on Intercultural Learning on the AFS website.
I’ll be in touch again regarding all of these opportunities!
Best regards,
(Name; AFS chapter or Team; volunteer title, if applicable; phone number)
