You should feel honored knowing that the talent displayed in auditions this year was truly extraordinary. In all, 170 4-H=ers auditioned this year! We had the very best talent ever, and we are so excited to have you as a member! Being a member of Clovers & Co. brings responsibilities as well as glamour. You will represent Georgia 4-H across the state and nation as a member of the group. Commitment and hard work are required from all the members to make our show a success. Clovers & Co. is truly a team effort. Each individual combines their talents with those of the other members to form a strong company. The team shares in the work such as loading the truck and breaking down the set as well as in the stardom. When members are missing, we have to try harder and may not perform as well. Are you willing to make a strong commitment to be part of this team? Please give this some thought before signing the Clovers commitment form / contract and returning it to my office. We must have a hard copy of this form. You may fax it to 706-542-4373 or scan it or take a photo of it on your phones and email it to me at cv4h@uga.edu. This form is due by JULY 23. Additional Shows May Be Added And We Ask That You Make Every Possible Effort to Attend. VERY IMPORTANT ‡ Rehearsals are just as important as shows. You must notify the Clovers & Co. staff prior to any show if you are sick or will be late for practice, etc. This is extremely important! If you miss all or most of rehearsal, we may have to replace your part(s) in the show for that performance. Absences from shows: Generally, absences are not permitted except under certain conditions including: a conflict with a district or state 4-H event or a conflict with a school event that involves a grade; cases of sickness; etc. If you miss more than one show with an unexcused absence we may have to reassign your parts in the show. In addition, unexcused absences may result in dismissal from Clovers & Company. †Shows added after we have held both rehearsal weekends and made announcements of show changes are not required; however, we request you make every possible effort to participate in any added shows! Clovers and Company offers you a unique opportunity to develop and showcase your talents! If you can commit to being a member, sign the attached acceptance form and return it to my office. ***Bring your Code of Conduct / Medical Release Forms, your Clovers & Co. payment ($180.00) if not paid online and the t-shirt fee. See the attached rehearsal weekend letter for details and payment for any t-shirts you ordered to the first Rehearsal Weekend or pay for t-shirts online as well. Specifically, I am committing to the following schedule of rehearsals and shows: I understand that rehearsals are just as important as shows. Member=s Signature ____________________________________________ Parent or Guardian=s Consent CLOVERS & COMPANY FIRST REHEARSAL WEEKEND - July 31 – August 2, 2015 To: 2015-2016 Clovers & Company Members & Parents Re: First Rehearsal - August 1-3 - Rock Eagle 4-H Center We are extremely excited about the coming year with you as a part of Clovers & Co. We have a tremendous challenge ahead of us. The staff has been working overtime to get the show together. Here are details for the July 31 – August 2 weekend: Arrival at Rock Eagle: Report to the BARKALOO RICH BUILDING on Friday, July 31 between 6:45 - 7:30 PM. Please eat dinner before you come and please do not arrive early. Be on time so that we can stay on our tight weekend time schedule. Have any paperwork and payments not paid online ready to turn in. Length of Rehearsal: 7:45 PM Friday until 4:00 PM Sunday. We will present some songs at 3:15 PM on Sunday for parents and friends but not the entire show. NEW THIS YEAR!!***Parent=s Meeting: We will hold an orientation meeting for ALL Clovers parents on Sunday afternoon at 2:15 in the Barkaloo Rich Building at 2:15 PM. We ask that ALL parents plan to come for this meeting and remain for the 3:15 PM show . Also new this year! We will have an APP for rehearsal weekend and we will also use it for communication through the year. Watch for an email closer to the weekend to download the APP! Cost is $180.00: Clovers & Co. members pay this to defray the cost of the two rehearsal weekends. You can pay this as you check in on Friday evening OR you can prepay online using your credit or debit card! The link to pay online is available on the Clovers & Co. cast only page at: http://www.georgia4h.org/public/edops/cloversandcompany/membersonly/default.html. The passwords you will need are: User name: cloversandco and Password: cl@ver28. Thereafter, most expenses for shows and rehearsals will be covered including meals and lodging. However , when we travel out of state to Virginia next summer, we will ask Clovers members to help defray some of the expenses. There will also be costume rental / purchase fees. You will hear more about this at the Parent meeting at Rehearsal weekend. ***Music: We will purchase and distribute printed music for many of the songs during our first practice weekend. In many cases, we listen to recorded versions of the songs to work on style and pull chords/voice parts. We do not require anyone to purchase the recorded music but much of it is available on ITunes. Dr. Bo Ryles has established a playlist on Spotify. Understand that in many cases we are not using portions of the songs and will often delete lyrics which do not convey the message we have in mind. Band members only will be provided with CDs of all songs to listen to. Once you accept your position in the cast, we can send you a list of the songs in the show via email. You can always email me at cv4h@uga.edu. I will also set up a new Facebook group for Clovers & Co. 2016-2017 for our cast and parents and post any updates there as well. My Facebook name is Cheryl Reagan Varnadoe so please ‘friend” me and I will invite you and your parents to join our new group once it is up and running. Parents & Siblings Attending Weekend: Clovers & Company is a family affair. Parents and siblings are invited to attend this and all rehearsals. You must pre-register online. Their cost for full-time attendance for this weekend is $110.00. Please bring your own linens, etc. : IMPORTANT - REGISTRATION for the weekend is due July 23 Online. Please fill out your registration form online by this date to help us with accurate numbers. Bring Personal items: Bring your own sheets, towels, etc. Also bring: a water bottle with your name on it, a 3- ring notebook or folder to keep your music, etc., in, pen/pencil, and comfortable clothes and shoes. You may want to bring a personal mp3 player, tablet or smart phone to rehearse with. Dancers: Bring your dance shoes, tights, leotards, costumes, etc. Costumes: We will be fitting costumes for cast members during the weekend. **Outgrown shoes, etc: Returning Clovers members - if you have any black character shoes, Men’s black dress shoes, etc. that you have outgrown residing in your closet bring them with you. Some of our new members might want to buy them from you! Code of Conduct / Health Forms: All (including returning Clovers members) bring your Code of Conduct Form and your Health Form, COMPLETED and PROPERLY SIGNED by a parent / guardian. We will use this form all year for Clovers & Co. performances - except for out-of-state trips. Links to these online are included in your acceptance letter. T-Shirt Orders: Bring your payment for any shirts ordered on July 31st or prepay online and bring the form – just in case! Snacks: Parents, we would appreciate you providing a snack for the kids to share during the weekend. Please bring enough for around 30 people. Send the snacks along with your Clovers member. We will provide the drinks. Keep in mind that fruit, fruit bars, and healthy snacks are always appreciated! Get some rest! Please come to Rock Eagle rested and ready to put in long hours.
